Creativity block

Have you ever felt the urge to be creative? Draw...color...paint...photograph...dance...sing...
But then you cannot find inspiration? Or you have inspiration but cannot effectively translate it to the page or act? I feel this way all the time. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person able to enjoy my artistic side because I fail to put it into action effectively.
But in reality I'm not the only one who enjoys it. God also enjoys seeing his children use their talents. He gave us talents and the ability to use them. And so, I continue to draw and photograph and sing and even dance, because God enabled me to do so. #

Mornings

Almost every morning I wish for more time to lay in bed and rest...on
the mornings I decide I can sleep "just a few minutes more" I
inevitably rush to get ready for work and then am praying the whole
way there that I'm not late. On those mornings are also when God
reminds me how beautiful mornings are....

big burdens?

I've been thinking recently about how we always hear people saying "God will never give you more than you can handle." I started searching for Biblical proof of that and came up empty. Hmmmm....so I texted Pastor Brian and asked, is there really a verse that says that? I was pretty sure I knew the answer...and I was right. No. I Corinthians 10:13 (NIV) says "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, He does not promise to not give us larger life burdens than we can humanly bear. This revelation made me think of another verse:
Provers 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" When we go through life's burdens and feel like we have more than we can handle, it's because we are not fully trusting God with those burdens. We will have huge burdens at times in our life because God wants us to be trusting HIM with those burdens! WE cannot bear them in our own strength but HE can...."I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who STRENGTHENS ME!" Philippians 4:13. CHRIST will give us the strength to bear those huge burdens and trials!
Next time you think you've been given more than you can handle, it's probably because it's true. But know that the reason for that is so that you'll let God give you the strength to handle it.

Righteous

Psalm 1:6 "For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish." In my Bible, there is a sidenote in this verse referencing Psalm 37:18 "The days of the blameless are known to the Lord, and their inheritance will endure forever." I read this a couple times then read the next one and thought how much more it goes with 1:6....Psalm 37:19 "In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty." WOW!

But how are we, humans, righteous? The Bible says none are righteous in Romans 3:10...But there is hope!

Romans 3:20 "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather through the lay we become conscious of sin."
Romans 3:22 "This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believes."

The Lord watches over the ways of the righteous, the righteous have become righteous through faith in Jesus Christ...Who's watching you?

Everything You Need

Philippians 4:11 "I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances."

Matthew 6:25-26 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"

God provides for our needs, and sometimes our wants as well. He knows what we need to live and survive and He will provide those things for us. As believers, why do we worry about being provided for and our possessions and money? Jesus tells us right here that God takes care of his children, and also warns us that worrying does not add any time to our lives.

God knows every need that you will ever need before you even needed that need.
